Christmas Pudding
Traditional Christmas Pudding, presented in a beautiful presentation window box, is steamed to perfection and stuffed with with fruit and a touch of Guinness and dark rum to give it a special traditional flavor. Instructions on heating and serving are included in each box.
Suggestions on how to serve
Microwave method: Open the box, keeping the plastic wrap on the pudding, and place on a dish that is microwave safe. Depending on the strength of your microwave, heat on medium for about 2 minutes - more if needed. Open carefully, so as not to burn your hands from the steam.
Stove top method: Open the box, take out the pudding. Pour a small amount of water in the bottom of a pan that can hold a metal steamer and the pudding, and place the wrapped pudding on the open steamer, with a piece of parchment paper or foil underneath the cake. Put on the lid and allow to steam gently for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Check the water level occasionally so as not to burn the pot.
When heated through, unwrap the pudding and place on a presentation plate that is flame-proof. Drizzle 2-3 tablespoons of brandy on to the pudding and light with a match. Let the alcohol burn off and serve sliced. Vanilla ice cream or hard sauce is a lovely accompaniment!
